Accounts Receivable Collections, Inc. (ARCI) is a privately held business founded in 1993 on professionalism, integrity and customer service.

ARCI is licensed for business in South Carolina and North Carolina. Due to state reciprocal agreements, we are allowed to collect in most other states. We are bonded through the ACA International.

We currently have a staff of over twenty employees, of which several are Certified Collectors and Certified Healthcare Collections Specialists. Four employees of ARCI are currently members of HFMA and have received designations through the SC chapter of HFMA as Certified Revenue Cycle Associates. We are experts in healthcare and commercial banking.

We constantly work to ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In addition, we comply with the regulations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). It is our company philosophy to provide professional support for all of our clients at all times.

 

Steve Gunter - President

Stephen W. Gunter is President and Owner of Accounts Receivable Collections, Inc., ARCI, and it’s sister company, The Billing Dept. Prior to forming ARCI in 1993, he held senior management positions with several Fortune 500 corporations.

Steve served as President of the South Carolina Collectors Association from 1998-2000. He also served as National Director from 2001-2003. Prior to being elected to the Presidency, he was Chairman of the Education Committee from 1996-1998 and Chairman of the Legislative Committee from 1998-2000. He also served on the ACA International National Membership Committee and the ACA Hospital Service Program.

Additionally, he has served as Public Relations and Newsletter Chairman for six years and has served two terms on the South Carolina HFMA Board. He has served as treasurer for SCHFMA during 2006-07. He has earned the Follmer Bronze Award and the Reeves Silver Award for SCHFMA. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina and has earned a Fellow and Scholars degree from the ACA, International. He also earned a Certified Collectors Certificate after completing an extensive study of the issues impacting receivables management. He is a member of the Lexington Rotary Club and a Board Member of the Lexington County Gamecock Club.


John Gay - Business Manager

John is a 2002 graduate of the University of South Carolina and has served as our Business Manager since August of 2005. He previously worked as a practice administrator for a multi-physician pediatric ophthalmology group. John worked extensively in the billing and collection areas to increase revenue for the group. John has earned the designation of Certified Revenue Cycle Associate (CRCA) from the South Carolina chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.


Stephanie Credle - Billing Manager

Stephanie has worked in medical billing and follow up for more than seven years. During her tenure with ARCI, she has managed the Billing Dept./Div. of ARCI. Stephanie has a background in customer service and account resolution of all payer types. Stephanie attended The University of Phoenix with a major in Healthcare Administration. She also is an active committee member with the SC Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and is studying for the CHFP designation. Stephanie recently earned the designation of Certified Revenue Cycle Associate through the SC HFMA. We pride Stephanie for her attention to detail and her process orientation.


Bill Gunter - Marketing Manager

Bill Gunter has been with ARCI since 2005 and has proven himself to be a valuable and versatile asset. He has served in both the Billing and Collections departments during his time with ARCI. Currently, Bill is working in the Marketing and Sales department as the Director of Sales servicing the South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia areas. Bill is also providing customer service to our clients as well as serving as head of the ARCI newsletter committee. Bill graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Marketing and Sales and a minor in History.
